Every good house needs a strong foundation. So does our art!
Drawing Core Concepts class is for all artists who want to better understand the principles of art, such as shape, value, color theory, texture, composition, and more. These are the bricks we can use to build fantastic artworks! Even if your art is abstract, or breaks the rules, understanding these concepts will allow you to achieve your vision with precision.
For tools we will be using mostly charcoal and graphite, as this is the easiest medium to use while practicing each theme. We will also be drawing from still life and other references to practice using the art principles of real world objects. This is also a great place to learn more about drawing tools and dry mediums.
Supplies and tools are all included in the price. Just bring yourself!
Core Concept I starts from the most structural principles, beginning with value and shape.
Core Concepts II will expand into more complicated principles such as transparency, perspective, and basic anatomy.
