Raku - Saturday Morning - August 2, 11am-4pm (Melinda & Mike)

Join us for a fun day of firing Raku! We have two small Raku kilns ready to go, rain or shine, unless there’s a burn ban. Please bring 1-3 small bisque pieces for firing—no greenware allowed. A few Raku glazes will be available, or feel free to bring your own. If you don’t have bisque pieces, we will have some for sale.

Since the session can get to be a long process, it's a good idea to bring something to eat while you wait for the kilns to reach temperature. If you’d like, bring a dish to share for a potluck.

Raku is a fun experience because the process and results can be surprising. Every pot turns out unique!

**Two Options**

1st Option: You can Raku your own bisque pieces, 1-3, no larger than 10" high. Any clay body is ok for Raku.

2nd Option: You can purchase 1-3 premade bisque pieces to glaze and fire for the experience.

If there is extra time and you'd like to Raku more than 3 pots, there will be an extra firing fee of $5/pot to cover the cost of the gas.

**Safety Notes**

Wear cotton clothing, tie your hair back if you have long hair, and wear closed-toe shoes. Protective gloves are available for everyone who participates.

Please pay attention and follow the instructors’ directions closely. There will be hot pots and open flames. We want to ensure everyone has a safe and exciting experience.
