Learn the basics of creating your own prints using gel plates! We will create 5x7 inch prints that can stand on their own, wonderful papers for cards, art journals, or other mixed-media collage projects.
We will explore stencils, image transfers from laser copies or magazines and painterly techniques with acrylic paints on the Gel Plate.
Unlike many traditional printmaking techniques, gel printing has minimal setup and is easy to do almost anywhere. Be as goofy and playful as we want to be. You will not want to stop!
Students will learn:
Techniques for creating layered prints.
Using homemade stencils/masks and found objects to create interesting textures.
Adding leaves, ferns and flowers to build unique botanical gel prints.
All supplies are included, but an apron is recommended. Please dress for mess!
