Welcome to printmaking!
This is the perfect class for beginners or for anyone wishing to expand their skills. Especially if you aren’t sure which type of print making to try; this is your introduction to the major branches of fine art prints.
We will use a variety of printmaking techniques, including types of relief, intaglio, and collagraph, as well as making a print edition series, and discussing some of the historical uses of prints.
We will also learn how to safely use a printing press, carving tools, and inks. Each student will make at least 4 unique images, with the possibility of dozens of variations of each plate!
The price includes all supplies and common tools, as well as specialty printmaking paper. If you have a personal item you’d like to print on such as a t-shirt, cloth tote, or handkerchief, bring it with you. And bring your big ideas! You choose what you draw: this class is about giving you the skills to create it.
