Want to continue to perfect your stained glass skills? In this 6 session class, you will have the freedom to create your own pattern and perfect your cutting and soldering technique to create your own unique stained glass window of any size.
We will discuss everyone’s project plans in detail during the first class. Come to class prepared with an idea of what you would like to create. You can prepare your pattern out on paper or digitally. If you like to design a pattern digitally, bring a laptop to the first class.
You will have access to Burkhead Art Center’s stained glass tools and equipment but will need to purchase stained glass and other consumables, some of which are available to purchase onsite.
Class and materials fees cover the use of shared tools such as glass grinders, soldering irons and basic materials. You will need to purchase glass, solder, copper foil, and caming appropriate for your chosen project.

2-DAY Beginner Stained Glass Intensive, Thursday & Friday - 11/20 & 11/21, 9:30am - 4:30pm
Take 2 days to learn all the basics of making a stained glass window. You will start by choosing a premade pattern. Then learn how to cut, foil, and solder the glass to complete your own unique window. Other vital highlights will include expert tips and safety precautions.
Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this class is for you. You'll have the freedom to pick 1 of 5 provided patterns, all designed by Kristin. Provided patterns are always changing, so feel free to take the class as many times as you'd like.
Don't worry about the supplies. The class price covers all the essential materials and shared tools such as glass grinders and soldering irons. You're also welcome to choose from our scrap glass or purchase your own. We have glass and some extra supplies available for purchase, ensuring you have everything you need for a successful class.
Fused Glass: AUTUMN WORKSHOP (2-HOUR) - Monday Evening 6:00pm - 8:00pm (11/17)

Ready to explore the art of kiln-formed glass? In this beginner-friendly fused glass workshop, you'll design and create a small functional glass piece, such as a 4–6" dish, plate, or tray.
You’ll learn to cut and layer pieces of colored glass, experiment with textures and embellishments, and understand how the kiln firing process transforms your work into smooth, finished art. Fired pieces will be ready for pickup within two weeks.
This is a great intro to the world of warm glass and a perfect stepping stone toward more advanced fused glass projects.

Whether you’ve created your own pattern or purchased one, we’ll walk through the steps to cut it precisely using vinyl sticker paper—perfect for transferring designs to glass.

Learn how to design your own stained glass patterns using Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape (a free alternative).
